CELEBRATE COLORADO DAY AT THE OVERLAND TRAIL MUSEUM
On February 28, 1861, Colorado became a U.S. territory and on August 1, 1876, President Grant signed a proclamation admitting Colorado into the Union as the 38th state. This event occurred just 28 days after the Centennial celebration of United States earning Colorado the title of the Centennial State!
Join us at the Overland Trail Museum on August 1 to celebrate this special date in our state history! Admission on Colorado Day is FREE to the public. Come enjoy cookies and lemonade in the High Plains Education Center and take part in fun activities such as gold panning, Colorado activity sheets, corn hole, get your picture taken beside our 38 star flag and more!
